# Website ≠ app

> Most of the industry ships a web-wrapped app. Native is what players want — they feel it on load, scroll, and tap. Web is quickest. Should that be the goal?

## Summary

The majority of lottery digital is a web-wrapped app. Players may not read copy, but they feel the difference. Too often an “app” exists so a lottery can say it has one — not as a separate experience optimized like a real channel (the website is not the retail terminal; the app should not be the website). Web ships fastest. That is not the same as the right goal.

## Key claims

- Website ≠ app — wrapper majority vs native feel
- Users may not read copy, but they feel
- App as checkbox ≠ app as channel / separate experience
- Web is quickest — should that be the goal?
- Lottery Innovation Summit: working demos, not “we have an app” slides
