A Figma pilot isn’t enough

Big promises. Pretty screens. Then pushback the second your state needs to feel like your state.

Lottery Innovation Summit · September 20, 2026 · US lottery industry

The Figma game is killing the industry. Big promises. Big talk. Then — when it’s time to customize — tons of pushback.

State lotteries need a different vibe and feel in their apps. Not something “validated” in another country and dropped in here like the audience is interchangeable.

Your state isn’t a case study from somewhere else.

Tourism in your state doesn’t treat everyone across the US as the same. They target a specific demo because they know each state is unique. So what makes us think a different country would be similar enough to copy-paste digital?

(We’ll go deeper later on how benchmarking wrecks your digital presence — and why letting a vendor tell you “it worked over there” is a trap. For now: the pilot problem.)

A deck survives the meeting. A Figma flow survives the conference room. Working software survives the jurisdiction — age gates, retailer paths, responsible play, claim flows, the weird rules that make your lottery yours.

If the “pilot” can’t bend when the state needs a change, you didn’t buy a pilot. You bought a storyboard with better typography.

Lottery Innovation Summit’s bar is blunt on purpose: real US lottery problems, built solutions, live demos of working product— not another walkthrough of frames.

Pretty fiction is cheap. Customization under real constraints is the product.

Real problems. Built solutions.

Lottery Innovation Summit is a challenge summit for US lottery gaming — not a conference: problems in, working demos out — not decks. Join the announcement list for when details are finalized.
