Help shape the lottery industry's challenge summit for 2028

A challenge summit — not a conference. Lotteries bring real gaming problems. Teams build working solutions on their own timeline. On presentation day: a live demo — not another pitch deck.

Straight answers

The three things people ask first

Is this a sales expo?

No. It’s a challenge summit — not a conference. Teams build against real lottery problems — then show a live working demo.

Will this create procurement risk?

Designed to stay procurement-neutral. Joining the list ≠ commitment. Formal process comes later.

Do I need tickets now?

Not yet. Martha’s Vineyard, September 5–8, 2028. This page is the announcement list — how you’d participate when details are finalized.

How it works

Pitching is easy. Building is the game.

  1. 01

    Problems

Lotteries (and seeded industry problems) define what needs solving in lottery gaming.

  2. 02

    Build

Teams build working solutions on their own timeline — builders, not brochure booths. Ready when you present.

  3. 03

    Live demo

Present a real working demo — not a deck. Independent judging. Everyone learns from what worked.

Rules of the room

What makes this a challenge summit — not a conference

Soft rules become conference theater. These are the bar for LIS 2028.

  • Live product on stage

Presentations are live demos of working product. Slide decks are not the presentation.

  • Real lottery problems

Challenges come from lotteries or seeded industry problems — not abstract “innovation themes.”

  • Build on your timeline

No fixed countdown theater. Readiness is measured by the working demo on presentation day.

  • Independent judging

What worked gets scored in the open. Everyone learns from the builds — not from rehearsed Q&A.

  • Not a sales expo

No booth floor as the product. Partnership exploration happens around demonstrated work.

  • Procurement-aware

Interest now ≠ commitment. Designed to stay procurement-neutral while problems and demos get real.

Example challenges

Problems worth a working demo — not a panel

Starter challenges for 2028. Lotteries can replace them with sharper ones. Suppliers and outsiders build against what gets locked.

  1. 01

    Website ≠ app

The “app” still feels like a web wrapper. Players feel load and scroll even when they don’t read copy.

  2. 02

    Loyalty + responsible play

Trust, loyalty, and responsible play ship as separate bolt-ons. One system should carry all three.

  3. 03

    App Store rejection loop

Rejection isn’t bad luck. Architecture and product choices keep failing the same review.

  4. 04

    Acquisition without casino cues

Grow younger adult play without looking like a casino floor or burning brand trust.

  5. 05

    Figma isn’t a pilot

Pretty flows collapse when a state needs its own vibe and feel. Working software has to bend.

  6. 06

    Table stakes ≠ the win

Geolocation and compliance are necessary. Experience is what players actually choose.

Got a sharper problem? Name it on the interest form — that's how the challenge bank gets real.
