Portrait screenshots are a habit — not a rule
Wide canvas. More story. The device can still be landscape inside the horizontal preview.
Lottery Innovation Summit · October 15, 2026 · US lottery industry
Most lottery listings look the same: three portrait phones, tiny UI, generic headline. Portrait templates are a habit. They’re not a law.
Use horizontal App Store screenshots (wide preview assets) when you need room to teach — jackpot moments, how geo works, loyalty + responsible play in one frame, retail → app handoff.
The canvas is horizontal. The phone can be too.
Inside that wide image, the device frame can still sit landscape. You’re not stuck mimicking a vertical scroll of the UI. You’re designing an ad that happens to live on the product page.
Pair horizontal sets with custom product pages so paid and organic doors don’t all wear the same tired portrait strip.
If the screenshot doesn’t say anything a competitor couldn’t copy in an hour, it’s decoration — not acquisition creative.
Real problems. Built solutions.
Lottery Innovation Summit is a challenge summit for US lottery gaming — not a conference: problems in, working demos out — not decks. Join the announcement list for when details are finalized.
